HIV Prevention
PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) are medications used to prevent HIV AFTER potential exposure. PEP is a course of anti-HIV medications that is started within 72 hours after possible HIV exposure and taken for 28 days to prevent long-term HIV infection.
PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) are medications used to prevent HIV BEFORE exposure to the virus. You must be HIV negative to start PrEP. PrEP is a course of anti-HIV medications taken daily (tablets) or every 2 months (Apretude) or every 6 months (Yeztugo) long acting injections by individuals that want to protect themselves from getting HIV. The FDA-approved medications for persons assigned female at birth are Truvada and Apretude. Studies show that PrEP is over 99% effective against HIV when taken as prescribed.
Book Online with one of our providers (same-day appointments are available), get the required lab testing done, and have a prescription (oral tablets) sent to the nearest pharmacy or delivered to your doorstep. Have your labs already done? Then book a visit and send a copy of your labs to our office - no need to retest!
